Meg Becker has been an auto-buy author for me since I first read her Butterflies series. And Blindfolds & Butterflies did not disappoint.

In Blindfolds & Butterflies, we follow Chelsea and Graham as they are set up on a radio bachelor contest for Valentine's Day by Chelsea's friend. Reluctance on her ends turns into a relationship that no one expects. 

Chelsea and Graham are such a cute couple, and I absolutely loved seeing them together. Through the rough start to the vulnerabilities,

to the final, "I love you too, butterfly"

 

I loved seeing Chelsea explore the side of her that she never knew existed. Until Graham. The pure intimacy they have with each other; the pure trust, the pure instinct. It's something short of pure sugar and sweet, and I LOVE it. 

Don't even get me started on Bullseye. 

AND THE FACT THEIR FIRST DATE IS AT THE ANIMAL SHELTER. MY HEART.

Picking up where Fae and Crystal Thorns leave off, we see a side of Chloe that I ABSOLUTELY loved.

Seeing Chloe grow into herself, and gain confidence, she learns about herself: her strengths, her weaknesses, everything. She is so powerful, and a complete badass, that you can't help but love.

And Quintus? You fall even more in love with him. Even as they go through this adventure together, and learns more about who he is and his past, he never falters, and you can see the vulnerability he has in those moments. He's just a huge puppy dog and I love him. His loyalty is unique and devoted mostly to her. I love their relationship and can't wait to see it bloom, even with the circumstances ahead of them.

Plus, THERES A DRAGON. How can you NOT love this?

When Coco is late to pick up her friend from the hospital, she goes on a mission to find Poppy's dad, Logan, who was late to pick Poppy up. After a hockey puck incident, she lands in the hospital, and when fate intertwines, Logan, Coco and Poppy's lives change for the better.

There were so many cute moments, and I absolutely loved their relationship. I feel like Coco and Logan were a match made in heaven, even if their first meeting wasn't the best of terms.

Going into this, I expected a heavier emphasis on their sports, Coco's figure skating, and Logan in the National Hockey League. There was some key moments that we saw with Logan, and him playing in the games, but I wanted more with Coco. More moments of her practicing, her performing, the tricks and impressing the boys.

Me being a hockey fan, I immediately knew I wanted to read it, but of course, there's going to be inconsistencies, which I tried to overlook.

Overall, a very cute sports romance, and I love all of the characters and I will definitely be on the lookout for Cam and Lana's story next in Cold Feet.

In Desperate Ruin is the first I've read by G. Elena and she's now one of my top authors. This probably made my top favorites of 2023.

When Clementine hits a bind in her life, and needs a place to stay, she ends up moving in with her best friend Rosa, and Rosa's dad Arlo.

Arlo and Clementine are so sweet and amazing together, their relationship is one for the books. Both have been through so much, and they make each other that much better.

Plus, all the other characters? Rosa and Frankie? I LOVE THEM ALL.

Can we just take a moment for Frankie, when Rosa leaves to go to her mom's house, and he stays loyal to her down to the last possible moment he could. UGH.

There's so many moments that me laugh, made my cry, had me putting my kindle down, and that's when you know, ITS A FAVORITE. There's so many little things that I didn't even touch on.

In Desperate Ruin comes out December 19. RUN, don't wait.

and yes, like others, i'm learning spanish just by the phrases used here and the Perfect Chemistry series. NO SHAME.
