Oh this book was so fun! I started it last week, and when I realized I was almost to the end of my goodreads yearly challenge goal, I hit the brakes so that it could be the book that put me over the top. It only seemed appropriate. This is totally a book-lovers book. The author is casual and funny and opinionated. She had me laughing out loud one minute and jotting down books for my to read list the next. Just a treat.

3.5 stars. Very interesting topic. Would read her other books. And am now in awe of octopuses.

More of an essay than a book, not only was this on point but it makes me want to tackle her other writings.

Elizabeth Alexander, a poet and professor, writes the memoir of the year after her husband's sudden death. This book is a poem and a love story. Overwhelmingly beautiful and grateful. An emotionally difficult book, not to be read in public if you are prone to crying, but so worth it. If you have the chance to read it in one setting it would be lovely. Although I have read the library's copy I want to add this to my collection to read every few years.

This book was so much fun I didn't want it to end. The audiobook version with *Will Weaton!!* narrating was worth it! I was certainly not a gamer in the 80's but I still was absolutely sucked into the adventure play and fun of this story. A must-read if you are 30-50 years old.
