Beautifully written and well-crafted, but this book fell just a little short for me. Too much anticipation? Because I started here without reading My Name is Lucy Barton? Because I did the audiobook. The writing was certainly interesting enough to make me go back and try Strout's other books.

Very different from AJ Fikry, but enjoyable all the same. Quirky and very readable, one section is written as a series of emails to a pen pal in Indonesia and another as a Choose your Own Adventure. This book was a welcome change of pace from what I've been reading
