This is the best book of the Frieda Klein series thus far. Frieda is still a cold unlikeable character but thankfully we got POVs from other characters in this book so we got a break from her.

As with the previous books, the plot lines are very farfetched, some character development of secondary characters made no sense, and elements of the story were unbelievable but it was an entertaining thriller.

One of my favourite books of the year. The Mermaid of Black Conch is one of the most original ideas of work I've read in years.

Life After Life has such lyrical writing however the plot of the book was not well structured. As another reviewer said, this was essentially an early 20th century version of Groundhog Day. The repeating of scenes was overused that it became tedious quickly.

This is Hall's best book yet.

It was interesting to learn more about Anne Lister. I rather wish that Helena Whitbread had published her diaries as this unabridged. I miss the text being bolded to indicate what section of the diary had been coded, as in the previous book.
