I have to be honest... I don't see the hype with this one. I just don't think it's my style of book. I didn't feel connected to the story or characters and the writing didn't hit me as it did for others. Already I don't really remember what happened in it. It clearly works for a lot of people but for me personally, it wasn't my style of book.

Reread 6/10/2025 - how did I never write a review for this?! This book is just so perfectly for me😭 It has everything I could want in a fantasy - dragons, pirates, politics, magic, plus queer relationships. The world is so expansive and the characters are incredibly raw and real.

I cried, laughed, swooned, and stayed up into the night glued to the page. This story will live in my heart for a long time to come.
