I love the concept of this series and it is beautifully executed in the third book. The setup for the last book is flawless and the character progression throughout was effortless and engaging. The series has not faltered like many books do the deeper into a series you go. It remains one of my all-time favorite book series! I cannot wait to read what is in store for Sea Spell!

The sequel is better than the first book! I love all of the ups and downs, which can also be illustrated with the first book. The writing of the aforementioned ups and downs has only improved. They feel sharper and less predictable, needless to say, this book is an emotional rollercoaster! I cannot count the number of tears shed, or whether they were out of happiness or sadness! Everyone's strengths and weaknesses are used to the fullest extent and yet still seem so believable. Sometimes authors write characters that are meant to be human but feel robotic, that is not the case for Kiera Cass! She writes emotions elegantly, always making sure to show the faults and patterns like real people! I highly recommend picking up the second book no matter your opinions on the first, you just might fall in love with the series.

DID NOT FINISH

I read the first few chapters because I liked the synopsis. Unfortunately, it was a library book and since I did not feel the pull to pick this book up again I DNFed the book and brought it back to the Library early. I want to give it another chance because I like the concept and the synopsis but It's just not what I want to read right now.

Spectacular! The best book in the main series is by far The One, with plot twists and character arcs left, right, and center this book keeps you on your toes! I did not want to put this book down! I did not think this series could get better but this book proved me wrong. I am sad the main series is over now, luckily there are plenty of spin-offs and novellas to keep me in Illea for a while!
