It was ok for a domestic thriller... if you don't mind perpetually suspending your disbelief and ignoring gaping plot holes.
Well, that was a surprise. If you had told me at the start of this book that I would be bawling and giving it 5 stars, I would have called you cray cray. But here we are. I’m still crying and it’s got 5 stars.
That was absolutely breathtaking. I adored every word of it. It was funny, heartbreaking, beautiful. Definitely my favourite read of 2019 so far (yes, I know I am late to the party). If anyone has recommendations for books similar to this one, please let me know. I want to devour more.
Nope, I don’t get it. I heard such good things about this sci-fi vs magic novel, but it fell pitifully short for me. The characters never felt real and the plot clumsily forced together. It was a chore to complete. Disappointed 😔
3.5 stars. While I found the world building very convincing and plausible, the plot fell a little flat. There was no real “time travel investigation” fun or mind-bending AHA! moments. It was overall a good read, lots of great female representation (woohoo!!!) and interesting psychological hypothesis but I just feel like more could have been done with the time travel murder mystery.
