Bleh! I am an avid reader and have traveled extensively, but this book failed to interest me in both arenas.

I LOVED this book! Who knew narration of a 5 year old could be so insightful. Jack makes some very keen observations as he struggles to come to terms with the strange Outside. Read it!

Half way through this book I was sure I was only going to give it 1 or 2 stars, but I must admit, the end gripped me and thus the extra star was earned.

I really wanted to like this book, but it failed to impress me. This is probably because I know absolutely nothing about surfing, and have never had any real interest in it. That said, I did find the characters compelling, and mostly disturbing and disturbed.

I think a fanatic surfer would love this novel.

Jackson Brodie remains one of the most memorable detectives I have encountered. An intriguing literary mystery that stays with you long after the final page closes.

I love Edinburgh and the return of Jackson Brodie pulled me in. I enjoyed the Dickensian way it 'all comes together in the end', however Case Histories remains my favourite Atkinson novel thus far.

Different but forgetable

I am not usually a huge fan of fantasy novels, but I had to make an exception for Tolkien.
