this one wasn't quite it for me, but I'm glad I read it so I can see how Klune's writing evolved ^^

I really enjoyed reading this, even though it also made me (obviously) think about the (ongoing!) COVID-19 pandemic.
It was really interesting to be taken back to the start of it, how things started (no tests, quarantining, no masks yet) to how things developed. Surround all that by a very nice part-epistolary romance and it was a great great read <3

Bachelorette number 12 was a very enjoyable 'enemies to lovers' romance.
I've worked as a nurse myself, though never in the ED, and it was fun to see some things that felt very relatable (not the dating a doctor part though, no thanks XD).

I always enjoy the fake dating trope, and while this isn't that, it feels adjacent to it, so it was like a fresh new take on a beloved story mechanic :D

Thank you Netgalley and Tantor Audio for providing me with an ARC!

Whenever I see a book with ace rep, I'm instantly interested. When I see books with cats on the cover or title, I'm interested. So you can imagine this book took my insistence to read book already in my TBR and shoved it down the drain, never to be seen again.

I really enjoyed this book! The contrast between 17 year old Nessa and the two generations older Moira was a nice change when the viewpoints switched back and forth between the characters. There are also little peeks into the past, which also gave the story some extra variety.

The way the title ties into the story made me happy too, it was not exactly how I expected it to!

I received a free copy in an exchange for an honest review
