This was a fun read, all the descriptions and their speaking habits made me laugh. I also appreciated that the drama wasn't drawn out, once it got necessary, they did talk about the problems, without big drawn out hissy fits, which was quite refreshing!
It's such a shame that reading graphic novels goes so fast! I feel like they deserve a patient focus on all details that I just don't have most of the time.
I liked the way this book shows that there are multiple ways to form a family, in many forms. I also enjoyed how it wove the winter stormy theme of the other parts of the series into it, without getting repetitious.
I loved this!
The first three parts in the series focus on Sophie, and seeing the world through Gabrielle's view in this novella was really nice and different. While they face some (/many) of the same challenges, they have quite a different approach and background in regards to dealing with them, which is nice to see.
I liked the non-linear storytelling and the fact that we saw Gabrielle during multiple stages of her life. Even though the book is quite short, this gave a broad and indepth view of who she is as a person, without it ever feeling like an infodump.
(I also may have made some celebratory noises out loud when I saw the announcement of a part 4 of this series :D )

I love non-linear storytelling and this novella did a very good job at it! It switched between the main characters too, which gave nice insight in them all. I would have loved to read more about them, but it does work well in this short form too ^^
