There's a Bear in the House is beautifully written. If you have ever taken care of an ailing family member, you will feel this in your heart. Author's father wants to spend last remaining days in the cabin he loves with the son he loves. A fitting end to life. Book was at times sentimentally funny, but a serious read none the less. It shows no matter how much relationships with parents change, you still want to be there for them. I love the included pictures. Great read

I love we got this ray of sunshine on Memorial Day. Finally go to finish my vlog on the series so check it out. An end of an era. Sighs. Fantastic end, even if kind of sappy. I had a tear try to subdue me. I will be talking about this book way past this review. Up front, book was loonngg, and I do think it could have been shortened, but it is what it is. So stay strong if you are like me and not accustomed to the length. It is worth the time. Book had action, adventure, deceits, violence, secrets, love, sex, power struggles, dominance/submission, team work, comedy, crass comments and cussing and even some heart felt moments. All the things I come to expect and respect about K.F. Breene's writing. I am definitely a fan and this is my first foray into her writing. Book was creative and captivated my attention from the first page. It tied up some loose ends about Hannon and some other characters, but left an opening for some possible spin offs. The writing is so heartfelt and makes you want to tear up at times. Instead of letters, Nyfain poured his heart out in person. Finley is every bit the heroine and pumps Nyfain up to do what he gotta do. Behind every great leader is probably a great woman. True power couple they are. I enjoyed all the secondary characters, especially Haydriel and Vemar. Make a great pair and in not what you may think, or maybe...I even enjoyed the former queen, because Finley will not be giving that crown back. Great book and series. I'm excited for more adventures through books.

Stolen Tongues sent chills up my spine at times. One part reminded of the The Exorcist. It is funny, interesting, gruesome, and all the trappings of a B movie. I commend Felix for being a stand up guy and supporting Faye. And I was pissed at Faye's parents. I want to commend the author for being sensitive and aware of Native American culture and his explanation in the book is great. This is a great book that will make you think about some things. Good read.

Jimmy is an interesting book that falls short. It's about a young serial rapist/kidnapper/killer in the making. It was an easy read that I read over the course of 2.5 days. For such a graphic novel, there wasn't really graphic content about sexual stuff (just a handy) and not as much violence as I would have expected. Seems like Jimmy was taking his time I guess. Book was suspenseful and kept me on edge, but I was let down by the lack of action in most of the book and quick easy resolution. Too quick. I do like how you get into each of the characters heads, so you really see the reality of all victims, direct and indirect, of violence. Overall a decent book, cool title, but could have been better. Not gonna lie, I was disappointed as I kept waiting for more stuff to happen. Don't know what that says about me, but whatever.

The Coldest Secret Ever is a wild ride with several twists, and an ending I didn't expect. You have an entertaining, unique story, with a good plot that was executed well. It has some trigger warning issues of sex abuse, cussing, ratchetenss, and horrible people you will love to hate. The husband pissed me off, I wanted to strangle him. Some of the others too. Where's the support people!

The characterization of the 2 main characters was thorough and realistic. The one sister embodies what happens when you don't give a f***. Very sad what brings her to it. Book held my interest the entire time. It is a perfect length. Some editing issues, like wrong words used, but nothing major. Overall a great read for some drama. Ending was a bit too quickly resolved, but I loved it book as a whole.

Hazel and Gray has a unique plot that is definitely not like the original kid version Hansel and Gretel, but you can see the similarities. There were a number of analogies, wasn't a fan of them, too abstract. The magical element was nice, and Hazel dropping legos instead of bread crumbs was cute. I enjoyed the young love story and magic. Book executed very well. Trigger warnings: sex traffic should be labeled for this book

The Cleaners is a unique story that I enjoyed. Take artifacts to cleaners to rid your life of memories. Interesting concept. It was told with heart and I felt bad for all 3 characters in different ways. I enjoyed the part about products labeled: Assembled in Chine, Cleaned in America.

The Wickeds is the evil stepmother side of the story from common fairytales. I found it fun, sad and entertaining. I felt empathy for the ladies. They deal with tough situations almost any female can relate to. Good story; my favorite of the Faraway Collection.

The Prince and the Troll must be sponsored by Starbucks. Lots of Starbucks. That aside, story was told well, was entertaining and also sad. It had a great message about infringing on other people territory. Also sometimes you can't get a happily ever after, and that is OK.

The Princess Game was just OK for me. It reminded me of 21 Jump Street. I didn't like the guys at all. Male arrogance, privilege. I was not a fan of the interview format. And the ending was too much speculation for me. I was annoyed. I read it as an audible and it annoyed me even more. My least favorite of all the books in the Faraway Collection.
