When We Were One is a unique story told in a very poetic, almost abstract yet solid way. Story was well written, imaginative, well thought out and delivered in an lovely prose.  That said, the formatting of this books needs to be worked on.  I loved the beautiful sisterhood and connections with people and the world at large.  Reminded me of Avatar. The many concepts spoken about seem to hold many truths in the world today.  Colonialism, power, technology, religion, money, and time create dependency and the way it was described in the book really makes you think.  This is a quick read and great story that makes you think.  I thoroughly enjoyed. 

Love and War has a good plot, lots of cheesy metaphors and one liners, and several twists and shocker reveals.  Lot of great liners that kept me highlighting (if you have GR, check out my highlights).  I think Kaine and Ace have a toxic relationship that I don't envy, but they seem to hold each other down nicely in their disjointed chaotic temperments.  I like the information regarding the military, but these characters don't even appear to be hiding their relationship.  I do think this book jumps from one scene to another without fleshing out the details enough for my liking so I felt like I was missing something often. But it doesn't affect being able to enjoy the story.  She doesn't get to her revenge/assassin part until like 85% of the book too.  But she was badass and cut throat when it did happen.  I love it when a plan comes together and people get what they deserve. Overall, I enjoyed the book, but definitely could be polished more.  

I never saw the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why so I went into this book with vague knowledge.  This book shows some realistic insight into typical narcistic immature reckless teen behavior and adults failing to listen and render aide when they need to.  That said, I was annoyed with Clay centering on where he fit into Hannah's story.  I understand, but still was annoyed.  And him feeling sorry for a classmate for being a totals creeper didn't sit well with me, but also typical bro thought process.  I enjoyed the pictures in the book as well.  Overall, decent quick read. 

The Loyal Wife was a wild ride.  I enjoyed the story itself, but the execution threw me off.  Several things had odd explanations that don’t seem rooted in reality, which is a pet peeve of mine. Like you gonna let your man go to clubs by himself to go find friends because you a home body. Come on girl. I won’t mention other spoilers, but just let it make sense.  The explanations given didn’t do it for me and I am left with questions still.  Book had a lot going on, so some things were just a gloss over. 

The characters were passionate and fun.  I didn't feel a connection with any except for Sade, and it didn't go deep.  Dante seems like a pushover and I don’t like how he was portrayed.  He is the golden boy, every girl’s dream.  Handsome, rich, and accepting of everything with  minimal questions.  Heck no.  The sisterly relationship was interesting and described well.  I do think the language used changed halfway through the book and I started to feel like I was reading a more edgy urban fiction book. I will leave this review at this.  Overall, book was lacking for me, but decent plot. 

The Echo Wife is a subtly wild book with a great plot, ethical considerations, scandalous, emotional, traumatic and even a bit a comedy.  I didn't know how to feel about Evelyn because I alternated between hating her and feeling sympathetic for her.  Her family trauma did a number on her for sure.  She is a prime example of a scientists that can't separate real life from work, and that is dangerous.  This poses some real life questions about the reality of cloning that do need to be answered before science proceeds.  I did feel some parts didn't make sense and led me to more questions, but overall I enjoyed this book. 

All The Little Raindrops had a good plot and executed well.  Evan and Noelle are emotionally mature characters that took time to heal.  I loved how the author expressed that.  Trauma is a life long thing.  I enjoyed this story, but would not have mind more details about what happened to them during captivity.  Also the ending didn't give a lot of details after everything was found out.  I would have liked to know what happened to the culprits.  Book contains lots of triggers for sex assault, kidnapping and violence.  This book would make a great horror book, minus the psychological thriller.

Same Time Next Year is a cookie cutter cheesy steamy hockey romance.  It was fun, spicy and quick. The audiobook made this book for me.  Passion is an understatement.  

Dystopian romantic fantasy well done. I love the fairytale carryover of trolls living under a bridge.  And the fear ability is definitely unique. Book has complete, yet minimal world building, interesting characters and storyline, no fluff, action, adventure and emotion. The oppression and caste system are somewhat relable too.  The love interest kept me guessing as she met the characters. I am so happy with the choice and how this book turned out.  I do think book reads YA with minimal descriptions of violence and vague closed door sex scene. However, still thoroughly enjoyable for adults as well. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.  My favorite scene reminds me of when the girl gets angry in the movie Fire Starter.

 Lover is a good quick time. I enjoyed the subtle humor surrounding the ”book” and the “romance”.  Did not like the cheating trope which came out of nowhere.  Overall a unique storyline with fantastical, fairytale elements. 

Woman World is a unique graphic novel of a world without men.  I kept wondering why it seemed the women were picking up after a lost world in which they have continued to live.  There were many funny parks, like with Emiko, and many other references I just didn’t get.  And also I had issues with there was diversity in skin color of the women in the book but the inside covers lacked it.
