A Love Between Two Worlds was a hot mess.  Extremely fast paced to where I didn't get to feel a connection between the characters.  It was just hopping from one scene to the next.  The book has a great fantastical concept, but the execution was horrible.  A good edit would go a long way too.  I was gonna read the second book, but will definitely pass now.  I don't even think there needed to be a sequel. This book felt like amateur hour to say this is the author's 6th book.  I will say that I enjoyed the black love, the sibling bond between Asreal and Bettina, and also that in Hell people spoke Swahili

White Trash Zombie is a good time. Starts out fast, then slows the pace and lets the story unfold.  I love the unique take on a zombie novel and how the brains are acquired.  These are new age zombies where brains provide super human abilities that are cool.  Sux you gotta eat brains for it.  I don't understand how people don't realize these brains are missing. I mean they see the bag of organs at the funeral home. Great characterizations and lots of heart. I did get tired of the loser references.  We get it already.  I enjoyed my time. Can't say I am here for 6 books but I did enjoy this one.

The First Muse is hilarious, has a lot of heart, has a great plot, and kept me on my toes.  I was confused in the first half and the quick transitions didn't help at all.  Several plot holes for sure, put I kept pushing past that and kept reading, and it turned out to be a good time.  Maybe because this is part of a series that I have not read, I'm not sure.  It is supposed to be a standalone, and is satisfying as that as far as resolution. I am not exactly sure what exactly a Breath is, but no matter.  Overall, a great book with some heart wrenching underlying themes.  I enjoyed it.

The Quiet Girl starts like Horrible Bosses 2 meets Mean Girls.  This book makes me happy to not be in high school where kids are selfish and cruel for petty reasons.  But then again, adults do that too.  Anyway, good time.  I knew Jess was trouble from the beginning and the brother Glen is such a realistic gamer.  "I'm on a video game mission and my team needs me".  I think this author was at my house yesterday.  Overall, a good twisted revenge story and I enjoyed it.

First I love Trinity has a gluten allergy in Against the Grain.  I mean we all have something right.  Book was fast paced, entertaining and predictable.  The ending was too quick.  I expected for drama for the build up.   And the bird always sitting on her face creeped me out. 

Silent Sounds is a unique world of silence and sign language.  It has great drama and is paced for a multi book experience.  That said, this book does leave on a cliff hanger and has several plot holes, so you definitely need to continue to be satisfied.  And while this book is slow paced in explanations and I was confused by some of those explanations, I did find the transitions.  That said, those quick transitions confused me as to what was happening.  Overall, I enjoyed the book.  I can see it is heading for some fun action and reveals. Nice cover by the way.

Creepin' With the Boss's Wife is so much more than the title.  It is a traumatic family drama over two generations.  And the drama was definitely there.  Definitely some problematic elements, and I was here for it. This book is really fast paced, so hold onto your hats.  That said, this book could use a good edit for grammar, spelling, structure, and continuity.   And even though the plot had a lot of swiss cheese (holes) and things that just don't make sense,  I thoroughly enjoyed. It's really a 3, but I have a 3.5 for the plot.

Don't Go Out After Dark is a reminder that the Appalacian mountains carry a lot of secrets and I don't want to find them out.  A family of paranormal hunters is definitely a unique family business.  Book is surprisingly emotional at time speaking of the bonds of family.  It was a quick get in and out and leaves you with questions. 

Home is Where the Bodies Are was highly predictable. I knew the culpritl like chapter 2; however, there was some twists that I didn't see coming.  Book is not overly gruesome, but disturbing reveals nonetheless. Book had some relatable emotional parts too.  Overall a decent quick time.  

Bloodguard feels like a YA book in the simplistic writing, quick transitions and character interactions.  That said, it is definitely for mature audiences due to the violence.  Leith gets his handed to him, a lot.  How he stays alive, no idea. Very gorey and detailed, and I loved that.  Quite an imagination for a gladiator ring, but magic has no bounds.  I question the citizens loyalty and enjoyment of other people's demise.  People suck.  I enjoyed the magic systems including the cleaning stones in the bath so water never gets dirty.  Can I get that at my home?  The variety of characters was fun-elves, dwarfs, giants, ogres,humans, mages.  Fun time.  And while this book does have sexy scenes, they are very tame and classy. Overall, this was an enjoyable read with heart, comedy and snarkyness.  Worth reading for sure if you like epic fantasy that is not too complicated, is a complete story, doesn't take itself too serious in delivering some serious topics.
