Only Big Bumbum Matters Tomorrow is a wild ride of females navigating life, relationships, expectations, and living your truth.   I enjoyed the multiple female POVs and seeing how different, but similar their experiences are.  Book was well written and entertaining.  Love the titles, but it is definitely more than just a bumbum story.  Hey ladies we are enough as is, but nothing wrong with wanting to feel better about yourself.  Just don't let other people dictate what that should be. 

One Blood is an emotional rollercoaster through the struggles, generational trauma and learning to love yourself for three interconnected black women starting in the 1960s. This book brings up so many relevant topics and expresses them so well.  Denene Millner knows every woman, (especially black woman).  I could relate to so much. It is written well, fleshed out good, and is very introspective.  The struggle is real for us ladies.  This is a great read to take your time reading, but don’t expect some big climatic ending.    

An Elderly Lady Must Not to be Crossed continues Maud’s journey, but with more reflection and revelations of her past and future.  A lot more slow paced than the previous book, but still enjoyable. I have enjoyed reading this duology.

An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good was wild fun ride with 88 year old Maud.  Don’t underestimate the elderly.  Fun, quick read, and somewhat historical.  The cute size of the book and the stitch pattern on the cover is a nice touch.  Can’t wait for the next book. 

The Glass Castle has lot of wild stories (some I find hard to believe) and irresponsible parenting.  I don’t know who Jeannette Walls is and found myself not vested in her story.  So at about 52-ish % I decided to not continue this book. 

 never read The Invisible Man so Classics Unlimited is a welcome condensed version.  You definitely get that classic writing still.  Fun story; however, I did not like the wordy dense writing and that it was all caps.  I found that difficult to read and it slowed me down. 

Compton Cowboys is very enlightening of a culture that many people don’t realize exist.  As a person from TX I am well aware there are black cowboy and country culture.  Didn’t realize it was in CA too.  But makes sense; the frontier was developed by cowboys of all sorts.  Color don’t matter as we were and are all here.  I appreciate seeing a different narrative.  It was also nice for each person connected to the ranch to have their own story told.  Some where heart breaking.  Growing up in Compton and many inner cities is difficult and I’m glad connecting with horses provided a respite and that they want to give back to the community and save the youth.  Every little bit helps.  There was a redundancy in the book as people’s stories overlapped, but overall a good time.  Awesome pictures too.  Author did his homework. 

ODB Oddities, Discord, and B-Sides was a unique graphic novel.  #netgalley A mixture of short stories. I was confused at time and definitely some stories I liked more than others.  A good time if you are a fan of ODB, rap music, and of course NYC vibes.  Great commentary on how corporations are trying to take over and dictate people’s lives.  This was a quick read, love the colorful graphics and unique delivery.

Heavy is the Heavy: Kingdom Come continues a great epic fantasy.  The battle between siblings, kingdoms, love and duty.  Very entertaining. And the love story continues, although kinda cheesy for me, but then again I think Mekai is a sap. I like the “freedom fighters” reference.  Overall, a great ending to a great story  Although, just as I said about the first book, time moves way to quickly in this story.  Author needs to slow down the scenes.  

Heavy is the Head: Love and War is a good time. Political intrigue, sibling rivalry, violence, abusive father, romance, sexyness, and a mystery. All the things I like in a story.  I love the multitude of activities going on in the story amongst all the characters. You see no one is perfect.  I do think Mekai is a weak baby dragon playing dress up for daddy.  The mental health support (counselor) is a nice touch you don’t normally see in fantasy too.  I will say the time line moved too fast for me.  You barely get engrossed in a scene before it ends. One sentence they are standing in a hall and the next they are in bed.  Slow down.  But great plot. I am excited to check out the next books.
