I found this book quite difficult to get into as it follows the lives of three women who become close friends. Mostly each chapter is told in one of their points of view but when they are together it's hard to work out who is thinking/feeling what. I didn't find this book particularly enjoyable as I spent most of the time trying to remember who was who as they all have similar experiences, the only thing that defines them individually is their careers - one is a wedding planner, one a dressmaker and one a hairdresser/cakemaker.
It took me a long time to get into this book and to feel any empathy with any of the characters. However, after the first half, the book became un-put-down-able and I became sucked into Tamara's world, where lies are hiding the 'elephant in the room' and a mysterious diary is written in before the day's events have happened.
This book will appeal to anyone who has grieved the loss of a loved one and to those who know how complicated family can be (though, hopefully not as complicated as Tamara's!).

Easy to read but not particularly well written - with far too much medical explanations that don't make a difference (I don't care how they do something, just that it's doable). Disappointing ending as there was a lot of build up then suddenly it climaxed so fast it only took a page or two with no decent lead in to. Also, as a murder investigation book - I was told who it was about half way through, they just couldn't find him and didn't know how he managed to foil the murdered. An ok read if you want something relatively brain-deadening and easy.
The character of America Throne is witty, sarcastic, vulnerable and very easy to fall in love with. The story is told in her voice as we follow her through a familiar scenario of being dumped. Unfortunately the second half of the book loses some of it's clear style but still a fantastic read that's hard to put down.
Really enjoyed this the first time when I was a child but re-read it and found it far too preachy for me to appreciate it.
Supernaturally is the second in the Paranormalcy series by Kiersten White (you can read my review of the first one here). I have to say I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first one, and therefore didn't read it as quickly. Or, at least, not until two thirds of the way through when it suddenly became un-put-down-able. Evie is the same as we remember her, but now she is realising that the real world she hankered for so much isn't quite as cracked up as she imagined (though she still loves lockers).
All characters that we met in the first book stay true to who they are and the way they are evolving is entirely believable. However, I found the new character, Jack, to be quite predictable throughout - one of the reasons I didn't enjoy it so much as it was a little too obvious what has happening. Jack does put all of Evie's relationships with everyone else in a bit of peril though and I found myself turning the page to find out whether they would work out or not.
Kiersten makes all the paranormal characters her own. This time including unicorns in the mix as well as a few other new ones. I found her take on all these creatures highly refreshing and completely unique which means I will definitely be buying the third and final book in this series 'Endlessly' and am looking forward to what she has in store for us next.
