Really wanted to like this, but it wasn't for me. Main character is very unlikable (intentionally so), and this made it hard for me to connect. Fascinating premise though!

After a whirlwind--and somewhat embarrassing--first encounter, Birdie doesn't expect to meet Daniel again. Then she shows up for her first night shift at a quirky hotel and realizes that she's about to become his coworker. Set against an artsy, eclectic Seattle backdrop, this sweet and sex-positive romance charmed me at every turn.

Katie starts her summer break focused on a single mission: saving up for sleepaway camp. When her first few efforts don't work out, Katie takes a job working for her neighbor, a glamorous woman whose apartment is overrun with 217 felines. How difficult could a little bit of catsitting possibly be? In Katie's city of superheroes, supervillains, and maybe even super-cats...it could be VERY difficult indeed. Cat lovers of all ages will adore this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud graphic novel.

A non-linear collection of short stories (marketed as a novel) centered around a Jamaican family, These Ghosts Are Family is a difficult, yet rewarding, read. Like all collections, the stories featured here vary in strength, but I found several quite effective, especially with Karl O'Brian Williams's talented audio narration. I went into this read expecting it to feel like novel, so I struggled until I figured out that the pieces were going to fit together only quite loosely. Bearing that in mind, I was more able to embrace the storytelling.
