BEAUTIFUL illustrations accompany inconsistent prose offerings about different kinds of animals. Some of these are informative, and a few are delightfully poetic, but most are kind of blah or overdone to no real effect (“Somewhere, somewhere, somewhere there’s a leaf that’s not a leaf, but a giant leaf insect. Somewhere!”).
In a society of warring time-hoppers, enemies Red and Blue pen lengthy letters and tuck them into the nooks and crannies of their battlefields: in feathers, rivers, flames. What begins as a challenge between fighters evolves, through El-Mohtar and Gladstone's beautiful prose, into a tender struggle to be together beyond the parameters of time and space.

Tons of characters who all have the same unfunny, extremely male voice.
