Beautiful story that isn't often told

As someone who works in the conservation field I wish I read more books like this. It was so refreshing to read an environmental book by a woman, an indigenous woman. I highlighted so many passages from this book. I loved learning more about indigenous relationship to the land, something that is unfortunately isn't taught in schools.

Nice light read to start off a new year. As someone with anxiety, I found all of the characters very relatable. I found the first bit of the book a little clunky because of the author's writing style, but eventually, it got better or maybe I got used to it and found the book enjoyable.
mysterious slow-paced

So well written. I think my history classes in school would have only covered five pages of this book. The author writes intelligently but still digestible for non academics
fast-paced
