This was okay, I liked it but it's not my favorite audiobook. I enjoyed the full cast and the background sound effects.

I thought this comic was interesting. The first part was boring to me but it began to pick up in the middle and the excitement I had carried all the way to the end of the comic. Overall, I would recommend but I would suggest taking caution and understand that this starts off a bit slow.

Unpopular opinion , there were so many parts of this book that were boring. I'm so disappointed.
The premise of this sounds so riveting but the execution just fell flat, the beginning and the end really dragged on. It was very boring. The cover of the book is also very beautiful, but this book is just not very exciting.
I finished this in two days because I wanted to finish the book in time for book club but I didn't like this very much. I read the whole thing because everyone kept praising this book and I thought to myself, "there has to be some reveal at the end that makes the boring parts of this book, worth the read." There was a reveal of sorts at the end but it wasn't good enough to warrant the book to drag on as long as it did. I really had high hopes for this one, I usually love historical fiction.
⭐️⭐️ 1.5/5 Stars

💬: “You don’t look that threatening. Just … very different.”
“Different is threatening to most species,” Nikanj answered. “Different is dangerous. It might kill you. That was true to your animal ancestors and your nearest animal relatives. And it’s true for you.”

Dawn by Octavia E. Butler is my first finished read of 2023! It was my first time reading this piece of work, and I really enjoyed it.
I have a phobia of aliens, which I've mentioned in the past. I was very creeped out going into this book, but I couldn't put the book down once I started (I finished it in two days!)
This book explores themes of gender, society, humanity - and what that means, sexuality, and I'm sure I'm missing some.
I enjoyed the world building. The aliens and the ship were all so creatively designed. This story just had so many great working parts, and it all came together to make a creepy but wonderfully written story.
I knocked off .5 stars because of how heteronormative the story was, with all the males trying to find a female within their groups to "hook up" with. Someone pointed out that was a unrealistic that everyone was so heteronormative, and I agree

This was okay. I didn't like how Temple punched Sampson in the face at one point, domestic violence isn't funny or cute.

This was a really cute comic book/graphic novel. It was basically a slice of life about Black girls and an Afro Latina who are all best friends. There's boy drama, family drama, and band of beautiful people doing their afro textured curly and kinky hair. The art was beautiful and the story was entertaining.
