I'm not crying, you're crying. I'm in love with Elliott, as everyone should be, and my heart hurts.

First, I'd like to start with saying that none of the stories told in this book were my story. I can never fully exist in the shoes of anyone in the Jewish community, or in the shoes of someone with a chronic illness.

With that being said, I loved this book. I have read a small number of books with Jewish life at the center, but none of them have been in a modern day setting (The Chosen immediately springs to mind). It was beautiful to read this book. Truly. I Googled terms I hadn't heard or couldn't remember, and I found myself scrolling through dozens of images so I could picture the proper things.

Aside from being educational not only about (one form of) Jewish life, and aside from creating a picture of what some people actually experience with a chronic, invisible illness, this book was adorable, witty, profound yet light-hearted. It was refreshing, and Jacob is honestly...perfect.

This book was a true joy to read.
lighthearted

It was cute, it was light, it was a quick read. It felt like Hallmark spit up on the page in all the best ways!

Brb while I move to the sea and find me a lumberjack of a man to cohabitate with.
funny lighthearted medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No

I FLEW through this! As witty and funny as all the Bridgertons are in the show, getting to actually READ the inner dialogue of Daphne and Simon was a game changer. I can't wait to binge the rest of them! I'm excited to see which details of the show have been pulled from the later books in the series.
