Excellent novel exploring fame, art, compatibility, desirability as it relates to aging, and so much more.
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Suicide attempt
it explores age gap relationships. all encounters are consensual and the primary one features adults (20 & 39 year olds).
however, there are multiple relationships mentioned and discussed between young adults (18-21) and minor teens (14-16). the situations are presented with nuance but are, for the most, part harmful for the minor.
i found the writing insufferable. i hate third person present tense, generally, however the way these authors wrote their characters thoughts only emphasised my frustration with this pov.
if that wasn’t enough - it was - they way the main female character described (sorry, describes🥴) her writing process makes no sense. as a performer AND writer, it didn’t feel authentic.

i didn’t really get on with the writing but, mostly, i didn’t like how much the lead characters were sexualising each other so fast. like, i know you’re both really hot, but where is the professionalism? are the allosexuals okay?
