Our FMC is a trainer spy and assassin, sent to enemy lands to get information and bit does she get some!

arranged marriage, slow burn, enemies to lovers, women in power. 

the 'enemy' isn't as cruel as she was taught, things don't add up and all the pieces click and you cheer for the relationship developing. 

the side charters are top notch, Jor leaving them on an island to work on their shit? epic! Woman warriors as part of the army? sign me up! 

but it's book one so you know it's gonna be rocky, and I am HERE for our girl saving her man! 

I think this is going to be everything I've ever wanted in a book!! 

off to book two! 

I loved this series so much!! 

The plot twist was AMAZING and I love that our heroine embraces herself and her power to forge her own path. 

Nothing gets you out a slump like a Tate James book. I finished this book on a day because I was HOOKED but man does our lovely Tate like to lead you up a huge hill and just shove you right off Cat's Peak. 

Only you know it's actually a HUGE cliff and not a little hill of a joke.

WTF Tate?! 

Not they expected anything less then an epic crash, fall and hole in my heart. But you've also put us here before and I'm optimistic. Maybe delusional BUT come on!

What more can we ask for? Besides a LITTLE  CLIFF just one time!?!? 

What I absolutely LOVE about Jessica Ann Disciacca is how she can take common tropes and make them uniquely her own while making all the things we hate about them magical!

1. Fated Mates - Do we get some? Absolutely!
but not every character finds theirs but that doesn't mean they don't fall in love and choose that love over and over again. We get mates that don't get very long together. We get mates that have to choose to be separated to protect each other. We also get mates who decide their goals are more important than their love. 

miscommunication - instead of internally screaming or throwing your book across the room because of the secrets, you get it. You understand the secrets and you HATE it but you understand.

On top of that the mental health representation is amazing! because we don't come out of battles unscathed and we get to see that here. 

Also I LOVE guessing a plot twist and I also love being surprised and I got both! The ending, the twist, will have you SOBBING! 

And if all that has you still on the fence, the spice is 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 it's literally everything you could want and more!
