Such a cute story!! If I wasn’t so sleepy, I am sure I could’ve cried happy tears by the end.
I was going to give this book a 4.5 until the end. Literal mind blown. Can’t wait to see how this is adapted for the series!
What a ride this one was! I had no clue what to expect. I loved hearing about the Native American culture. Daunis is such a strong female narrator & experienced so much in a young life. I loved the mystery and glad we got closure all around.
I really enjoyed this! It kept me wanting more and when I thought it was going to go one way, it pivots. The only thing that confused me was the Epilogue.
Update: I read something that explained the Epilogue and now it got me thinking!!

This book was nothing like that I thought. It definitely painted a picture of what life was like for children of Afghanistan and it just breaks your heart. I am glad there there was a happy ending after so much heartache.
I had the opportunity to read an early copy of ThePerfectMove by Alisa Klinger which will be released next Friday on June 4th. What a ride this was!
Hope & Jay move into their new home with their son Marc and from there things start to get interesting. They do not just move into any neighborhood but an upscale gated community. Jay is a doctor at a local hospital which keeps him busy. Hope who was a former teacher but is now a stay at home mom is trying to keep the spark alive with her husband. Hope befriends those in her neighborhood including an older gentlemen Nathan. After a murder rocks the neighborhood, Hope & Nathan become detectives trying to figure out what happened. And sometimes when you can’t stay away from a hunch, you often get yourself buried into more trouble. I won’t say much more about that!
Despite having a lot going on and some parts seemed far fetched, I really enjoyed reading this and needed to know what happened. I really liked that the author brought to life Huntington’s Disease which I know a member of my family has been affected by this.
If you are looking for a quick, easy read filled with love, gambling, murder, friendship then this is a perfect book for you!

Theo and Maddie were such a fun couple to read about! I love enemy to lover trope and this one was top notch. Lots of steamy scenes!
4.5 - I really enjoyed this book!!! I wasn’t sure how I’d like it because I had heard there was some supernatural elements to it. Which there was but not an overwhelming amount. I just needed more a love story. Don’t want to say too much but I just need a hare more. Can’t wait to see this adapted on screen!
Eye opening stories about Cuba & immigration; within each individual storyline it sometimes was hard to follow (timeline was jumpy). When I wanted more of one person’s story, it ended and went on to someone else. It was a different style of writing for me.
Definitely was sucked in! The ending was mehh compared to the rest of the book. And as always with most books I read, I always want to know what’s next for the characters. So as always I’ll just imagine what is happening in the lives of the 3 characters.
