Oh my goodness!! I absolutely loved this!!! I think holiday romance that is also family based is my favorite.

I have never read a Kate Stewart book before and now I feel like I need to go and read the Ravenwood series that I see everywhere.

I love how confident and sassy our protagonist Whitney is. She is 38 years old (which that is also refreshing to read in a romcom), working successfully in marketing, aunt to nieces and nephew and youngest of 3. She has always been career driven and couldn’t quite find the one after her heart was broken when she was 21.

Suddenly, the man who broke her heart is joining their family for a week after being invited by Whitney’s brother Brendan. Eli, is a single man who built a successful business sold and decided to work for Brendan’s company.

So much happens in this week time that pulls them back together as well as apart. And in addition to their storyline, we also are following the complex relationship of Whitney’s older sister Serena and her husband Thatch. And at the end, there’s a conflict between Brendan and his wife Erin.

I love the dialogue between the adults as well as the adults relationship with the children. My goodness - Eli’s relationship with Peyton….Swooooooon!

This was a slow burn but we did get steam during flashbacks before the ultimate moment. Firrrreeeeeeee!

Also can all moms be like Ruby?!

Audiobook: I was really looking forward to this book after reading “This Time Next Year” earlier this year. I enjoyed the first half but I don’t know why but I was losing interest by the end. I was happy with how it turned out at the end. Oddly enough the premise gave me “Dumb & Dumber” vibes as Laura accidentally gets someone else’s luggage and after going through it, she thinks that they are her soulmate. One plus is that we did get a little steamy bit which is what I was looking for with “This Time Next Year”.

Delightful read - might revisit if I become a parent

Very slow start but picks up once romance begins.

Made me want to experience karaoke with him in NYC.

2023 Update: Did a re-read of this via audio this time to prep for the TV show coming out. Still as fabulous as it was back in 2020. From the trailer and photos, the casting was perfect and I'm really excited to see how they adapt it to screen. Highly recommend via audio; Has a full cast narrators (even some celebs in there).  Updating the star rating from a 4 to 5.

Loved the whole 70s music theme in this book.

This was a cute rom com story but just you much back & forth.

Very fast read - love the story!
