What a truly gorgeous piece of literature. My only complaint with this book is that I fear I read it too quickly, but at the same time I wanted to keep pace with the narrator.

This novel (novella?) is a banger, start to finish. The way it examines gender and sexuality is brutal, yet in some surprising ways tender. This is the first time I’ve read something with such visceral and personal body horror. Truly remarkable.

Extremely charming and well written, Fry’s research and knowledge on the subject matter is admirable and remarkable. There was just something about this book, the entire time I was reading, I felt that I just wanted a little bit more. Additionally, it took me 70 or so pages to adjust to reading the footnotes, which isn’t a rating detractor but more a note to other readers. Overall, it is an impressive and immersive read.

Just absolutely amazing. Such an amazing author. And I loved the inclusion of his own paranormal experience, which matched so well with the rest of the story.
