More focused on decluttering than zero waste, this book is a great guide for how to de-clutter your home and how to responsibly dispose of unwanted goods. It shows how the minimalist and zero waste movements can be mutually inclusive.
It was a decent read, but I found it focused less on butterflies and more on humanity's feelings about butterflies.
DNF
I'm going to assume that the author was simply ignorant and did not know g**** is a derogatory term despite writing a Romani character into their story.
I can only read a derogatory and racial slur so many times before I refuse to keep reading, ESPECIALLY when it's used in a fetishising way.

Graphic: Racial slurs
Fun Fact: Mary lived for decades after Percy died, but this book barely mentions her life after his death.
This book does cover much of Mary's history, strongly focusing on her years with Percy Shelley, but the chronology of the book is bizarre and not linear and the author constantly assigns motivations to people without having any supporting cause for such an assumption like a letter or documented conversation.

The topics were interesting and sometimes insightful, but I found the author's lack of specialised knowledge on the topic showed through in her constant attempts at humour, which quickly started to grate.
I knew very little about Miss Simone, but after reading this biography, I have a lot of respect for her. She was a confident, unapologetically intelligent, talented Black woman in a time when confident, intelligent, talented Black women were not "allowed."
The biographer, a white man, often references the fact that Miss Simone was "difficult to get along with," but I suspect she just refused to act the part society expected her to play.

I enjoyed this collection more than most classic ghost story anthologies.
The included authors are the usual suspects, however, the story choices had more variety than the usual collections.

This book is definitely for connoisseurs of Victorian era science fiction and not an introduction for newcomers.
Many of the "stories" are actually excerpts from novels and larger stories.
The main appeal of this book, for me, was the snippets of science fiction history and the biographical titbits about the authors.

A misleading title and subtitle.
This supposed book about dung beetles barely discusses dung beetles at all.
It's actually more of a history of entomology and taxonomy with just a shallow head nod towards dung beetles.

The story is amateurish and clichéd, little is explained, the ending is open-ended and anti-climactic, and the characters are extremely forgettable.
