Racist stereotyping, main characters family being plantation owners with a live-in PoC nanny and all that.
Graphic: Racism
I could not make sense of the book, I hoped that would get better, but it just kept getting more confusing and I decided not to waste my time on trying to finish it
The story bounced around so much that I really didn't get a good understanding on what was going on
Bouncing Back from Rejection: Build the Resilience You Need to Get Back Up When Life Knocks You Down
DID NOT FINISH: 20%
She mentioned how you have to fix stuff like financial issues first, but was like "do it by yourself, or you can call a friend or have someone professional help you" without any more explenation, and without giving any ideas on how to do that while you're also struggling with rejection and shame (and finances are often a part people feel shame about). Not interested in listening further
It flipped between the present and the past in a very confusing way, I couldn't keep track of anything. And the parts that happened weren't particularly interesting
I didn't vibe with the self-deprecating style of her talking about her experiences (I know that might be shallow of me, but it just made me uncomfortable)
Moderate: Vomit, Death of parent
Writer displayed a Jewish character in an antisemitic way (a Jewish jewlery expert/apraisser, with physical characteristics of being a short woman with a hooked nose).

Happy Healthy Sober: Ditch the Booze and Take Control of Your Life
Foreword by Denise Welch, Janey Lee Grace
DID NOT FINISH: 40%
I thought it would be focused more on sobriety as a whole journey, but the focus was too much on eating healthy and I realized that's not the kind of book I want to read when it comes to sobriety. It feels to preachy to me.
