Ever After Always

I really tried to stick it out but I just couldn’t. The pacing feels slow, I don’t really care about the characters, and the constant evocation of Adrian’s sob story childhood just didn’t do it for me. Feels like a shallow and poorly conceived play on tired stereotypes. On to the next!

writing is way too on the nose and packed with clichés - very pink brain blue brain vibes which I could not deal with, and super predictable. I also didn’t care about the characters. Disappointed because I loved the hating game so much but this one is simply not for me. Next!

Interesting premise - one I hope to return to another time when I’m in the right mood, probably in print rather than audio

I don’t have the bandwidth for this right now, but when I do, I’m excited to read a physical copy - ebook just wasn’t doing it for me with this one.

Astrophysics for People in a Hurry

Maybe another time. I happen to have a lot of compelling audiobooks on hold right now, and this one requires more attention than I can give it at the moment. I’m sure it’s fascinating stuff, but Tyson lost me after the introduction - I would have to be much more focused to internalize the information in the way I’d like!

This One Is Mine

Casual & unnecessary racism & anti semitism that seems not to serve the plot at all? Not really compelled by the writing, and seems full of vapid and unlikeable characters. Not worth my time, and likely not worth yours either.

Better suited for winter reading -- planning to come back to this series in fall/winter when I'm more in the mood for a fantasy series
