hopeful informative inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

I bought this for my classroom and wanted to preview it before putting it out. It was great! I think a very strong 2nd graders and up would be able to read and comprehend. I teach 5th grade and think that the pacing and vocabulary was good and on par with my goal of having kids read it and return over the course of a day.

The art was also really cute! And the timeline at the end of each chapter was helpful at keeling events in order.

Sweet book about learning to cope with the death of a parent.

I was intrigued by the concept on the back cover but early on it was evident this was not the book for me. Too much casual racism, sexism, and misogyny. It would be one thing if those themes were mentioned and then there was something done about them, but they were just there and did absolutely nothing to advance the plot. Just seemed that they were there for shock value if anything. I wanted to like this books but I couldn't get past the firsg five chapters.

Super cute as all Emily Henry books are! I think the pacing toward the end was a little rushed which is why it lost some stars for me. Otherwise I really enjoyed it!

This was a fun read! I love everything David Arnold puts out and this didn't disappoint. The concept was wacky and enjoyable for those who like AUs and parallel universes. I always enjoy the characters Arnold creates because they're always sarcastic and a little bit weird. Very fun to read and enjoyable dialogue. I can't wait for another of his books to read!

I. Loved. That! Everything from the spice and romance, to the dynamic and honestly pretty morally gray characters, to the humor. Everytbjnf about it was great! I won't lie, I keep finding myself gravitating toward straigh  romances despite claiming not to be a romance reader 😅 this had me laughing out loud, blushing, sweating, crying. All the good stuff. I can't wait to read Emily Henry's other books!

I will admit. When I first started this book, it was begrudgingly. Many friends told me to read it, but I put myself in a box claiming contemporary romances aren't "my thing". With that narrow lens, I thought the characters and premise of the show were annoying. But, as I read I saw myself in the characters and I do have a guilty love of trashy reality TV so it came together. It was actually pretty darn cute and held some mirrors up to hard truths when I wasn't expecting it. Only reason, for me, it gets 4 instead of 5 is the miscommunication was just almost unbearable and I felt a but over used. But not bad at all!

Too long and not quite enough time to read it when I wanted to. I plan on going back to this one.

I liked it. It was fun having court testimonies and articles thrown in the mix between chapters. I liked those more than the character narration most times to be honest. It was a bit slow but I would still recommend it to someone.
