The graphic novel was a great visual and shortened interpretation of the novel. I felt like I was missing details and was confused at some parts but that seems to be reader error. I'm motivated to go and read the novel and hopefully gain more insight.

Christian religious propaganda wrapped up to be "Appalachian gothic horror".

The main character just tries to convert nonbelievers to his religion and half the book is simply Bible quotes.

The pacing and character development is widely inconsistent making it hard to determine what the real time frame of the novella even is and making it hard to find the characters likeable. The women are written to either be crazy and dismissable or trad-wifey and submissive.

This book was NOT marketed whatsoever to be religious fiction. I'm sure people who are into this kind of thing might find it to be their cup of tea... but I would rather not have spent money on this copy for it to just be half Christian Bible verses anyway.

0.25 stars because the cover art is well done and alluring. To my knowledge, the author does all his own cover art - the cover drew me in.

The hold list for all versions (print, audiobook, and digital) are crazy long... just waiting my turn again.

The little blurbs with each recipe are do cute - I love stardew valley and this adds and extra layer of life to the game! I've tried a good handful of the recipes now and can confirm, they are great!

I'm going to spend a lot of time working on decoding those messages at the end and trying to organize the timeline.

I love the sci-fi element. The eldritch beasts were always great but I'm intrigued by the new layer of lore.

Reading this after the announcement of Even in Arcadia but before it's release is so neat. Lots of speculation floating around to be confirmed, denied, or asjusted.

It took me a LONG time to read this book. It's detailed sometimes to a fault and sometimes laborious to get through those parts but there are just enough pieces that grabbed my attention and kept me going a little longer. 3.5 stars because I felt it dragged more often than not and the ending was... well the ending was what it was! But it was still entertaining enough to keep me through all 1,200 and odd pages.
