i have mixed feelings.

first, this book could've taken out at least 100 pages and it would've been the same. 80% of the book is the same thing happening over and over again. more people dying! it's the insects! they're literally scrambling all over the place doing nothing

naw because wtf was this?? she was SO mf popular only to be terrible.

first, the plot is so dumb. here's this 18 year old witch who has ONLY ever done low level magic and never studied any dark magic who sees her twin get murdered. she then proceeds to successfully summon NOT ONLY a demon, but one of the 7 most powerful ones?! AND she made it so he's bound to protect her AND to marry her? like ..... seems like pretty high-level magic for someone who has absolutely zero experience w it.

also, grandma is irresponsible af. she literally was supposed to protect the whole ass horns of hades and she just...gave them to her granddaughters as necklaces? without telling them what it was, only that they couldn't take them off or hold them together? OF COURSE they tried it! you said they couldn't! she literally put a target on their backs without ever explaining to them what was going on.

wrath sucks - their romance is meh, hardly developed. i was lowkey bored.

neon gods set this up for unrealistic expectations. bored and repetitive in comparison

miss nelson set me up for high expeditions with i'll give you the sun and i was heavily let down. i should've known when recommended books in the front contained a john green book.

it was boring but had so much potential to not be. also the love interest she ends up with is very toxic and i feel like this was never addressed?

absolute nightmare fuel, left me physically curling into myself bc it was so freaky. entertaining tho tbh.

HOWEVER - some things do not add up lol.

first, why did there have to be a three year span to all of this? seemed like a lot of unnecessary page filler - dragged it out unnecessarily.

GRUESOME. especially the end. i read it before going to eat STEAK of all things and that was a god awful decision.

also...was her son being obsessed with nazi germany necessary in any way shape or form? i was waiting and waiting for that to become relevant and it literally never was. wtf was that?

the PLAYLIST lmfaooo so cringe. the whole book has the nasty 2010 high school vibe and it did not hit. i couldn't wait for this to be over i hated it so much. i cannot believe that people love it.
