Can I say I was emotionally caught up in the beginning of the story? Yet, another second chance story and I actually enjoyed it. Not my top favorite but I love what Nicole did with Jack and Sofie.

From the very beginning, I didn't understand what was going on and when their past was told I was curious to see what tore them apart and what would happen in the present. Survivor did not disappoint in the realm of mystery and there were a couple of twists I didn't see coming, yay!

We first meet Jack and Sofie as strangers to another. Sofie left years ago due to tragedy and what brings her back is a tragedy. However, it's also what makes her stay. When they were first together Jack is coming back from boot camp (Marine) and Sofie and his family are waiting for his arrival at the airport. Their introduction as a couple was sweet and short and made you understand how deep their love was for another. Then, tragedy strikes and Sofie leaves.

Without giving too much away, I loved how Nicole was able to intertwine present with the past and still be cohesive. Now, do I have closure for everything that occurs? Mostly, I still have some unanswered questions, but it's like an 'eh whatever' deal for me.

It comes full circle for Jack and Sofie as they are the focal point of this book and I'm glad Nicole didn't muddle it down with unrelated details that steered from them.

I flew through this and I didn't think I would. I didn't read the first book in the series, so I had no expectations. Luckily all the titles are standalone reads, so you're not missing a beat if you just want to pick and choose.

If you want some hot Marine in your life who is as sweet as pie and a girl who realizes she is strong and head over heels for her man, then this is it. I would recommend this for a quick read.

This is an extremely short story. It's the birth of Fiora, a dragon within the Ring of Fire series. Well written, and gives enough closure, yet makes me want to read more. I have yet to start the series, but if the writing for this short story is any indication of how the series is written, then count me in!

Great short story.

This story rhymed and flowed with no hiccups. I personally loved the play on Pele in the story. My son enjoyed it, because it was exciting for him.

Vinny plays soccer with his brothers and they loose. He gets blamed for the lost and ventures out on his own. During his time away he trains and finds his talent, then comes back when his brothers need him the most.

Another book for my son's reading challenge. This is a great quick read about being rude and learning to say please. It approached learning manners quite hastily, but my son was able to comprehend. He enjoyed the book tremendously.

From a parent POV, I wish Woods went into a page or two about why saying please is good manners and polite, rather than just rush into it. And praise Owlet for saying please without explanation on why it's good to say it.

The first book my son reached for, for his 3 books to read towards his book challenge at school. He began reading this right off the bat. I finished reading the rest of the story about 2/3 in. The flow of the book is great and keeps the reader engaged.

My son definitely enjoyed it.

It's about Zachary, a rat who gets too many potatoes and doesn't eat them in time! He then gets caught and has to find a new home.

The best of friends, Sal and Becks. The jock and dork. It’s senior year and Sal’s other best friend, Hooker, is determined to play matchmaker and get Sal a boyfriend by the end of school year. Hooker is relentless and determined. Sal gets sick and tired of the blind dates and concocts a plan for a fake boyfriend. Her fake boyfriend just so happens to end up being her best friend.

They go through the ups and downs like any high school couple, yet they didn’t count on one thing, separating emotions from reality.

If you’re looking for a quick read and a good YA, then this is it. Face paced and predictable, but had a few surprises. I did guess on a lot of the “hidden” plots, but they were written well in the story to almost be untraceable.

Looking for a simple bed time story? This is it. It’s a very quick read about Benji feeling lonely, making new friends, and going on quick adventure for the night.

My son and I read this to his little sister (3 months) and she was alert throughout the reading and he enjoyed it as well.

This book is a great bedtime story! It teaches kids to be more kind and to take other people’s feeling into consideration.

There’s various scenarios that are brought up to where mean things are said. After each scene my son and I discussed what was the correct way i treat others in the scenario.
