This book inspired me to search for "God." And the search within the text returned over 100 matches. Talk about annoying!
The story itself was okay. Predictable, though, and not quite what I'd call horror. I feel like using the word mordacious to describe both the main character (and narrator) and her friend, likely because its secondary meaning can be applied to almost all the other entities in the narrative. It would give way to expressing all characters seemed the same. Who knows? Maybe the main character's divorce was traumatic to the extent this all took place in her head...and therefore all characters were the same?
Meh.
