I'm certain I would have enjoyed this book more in another format. Audio isn't its vehicle.

I'd have thought that this unusual presentation of non-fiction would have been able to hold my attention, but most of the stories contained within were hard to follow. There were two, however, that stood out: Come Along...to Clinton Road! and The Monkey Man of Delhi! (curiously the only two titles in the collection that end with exclamation points). The former consistently carried the mood of telling ghost stories around a campfire while the latter...well, I'm not sure what to say other than that it's the best comic I've read in a while. It did so well in transfusing a ridiculous social phenomenon that I would give it five stars on its own.
Graphic: Animal cruelty
Moderate: Fire/Fire injury

I rushed through this to finish it. The remarkably low level of writing proficiency demonstrated throughout this work would make me think of grade-schoolers as its target audience were it not for some of the language used and subject matter addressed. It's a reminder to me, though, that literacy rates have been in progressive decline.
I dunno. Sci-fi used to be smarter, too.

I'm not going to lie. This was boring right up to the last page. It was then the narrator revealed a simple purpose behind his retelling of a moment of perceived magic from childhood. . That's the only reason I'm giving this story a higher rating than I was going to.
