Peyton Kelly, a shy, compassionate, and sweet young woman living outside the city in her Jersey hometown is dragged to a charity gala by one of her two besties. Thomas Ford, one of the city’s most eligible bachelor’s with no plans to settle down attends a charity gala to donate on behalf of the family company he runs. When his eyes connect with the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen, he is spellbound. When he approaches her at the bar and touches her hand, he knows she is special. When fireworks ignite between them as he brings her to orgasm in the hallway, he knows he’ll never be the same. But then they are separated, and his mystery woman is lost. Five years later when Peyton moves to the city and answers a posting for a nanny, a job she desperately needs, the last person she expects to find is her mystery man — the one she compares all men against — with a three year old son. A sexy billionaire with an adorable little boy, and she’s moving into his penthouse to be his employee. Just ignore the off charts chemistry and five years of longing… what could possibly go wrong?

I cannot believe this is Jenn’s debut novel! I am truly shocked! It was funny, romantic, and spicy AF, plus there were incredible characters and amazing romance reader Easter eggs!

Thomas Ford is dreamy — he is fiercely protective of his family, and so adorable with his little guy, James. Thomas didn’t believe he could fall in love with someone, and it seemed like he didn’t regularly tell his family he loved them either. I wasn’t totally clear on his hang ups aside from being a reformed player — but honestly I didn’t even care about the why, just that he was in fact falling for our girl!! And woah, he was a beast in the bedroom! The spice was 🥵😮‍💨💦

Sometimes I can find kids in books a bit annoying or distracting, but not in this case! James was really cute and I enjoyed the scenes he was in.

Peyton was definitely shy, the introvert of her friend group, and lacked confidence when we first met her. Thomas’ attention and praise really helped her come out of her shell and shine! Her nickname Sunshine was so perfect as a reflection of her warmth and how she shined brighter in his presence. One of the ways her shyness and lack of confidence came out was through stuttering. I don’t believe this was meant to be a speech impediment but something that happens in stressful situations. While it may be realistic, I found it a bit distracting.

Gigi, Peyton’s grandmother, was such a firecracker, and a great character in the story! She and Peyton’s besties, Avery and Kali, had some hilarious lines and were such a great support system for Peyton.

Thomas’ crew: siblings, Marc, Oliver, and Emiline, and best friend, Logan, are going to be fun to get to know more as the series progresses.
