📖 If J. Rose writes it, I will read it! I have really enjoyed seeing her write on a somewhat softer side with the Briar Valley Duet. It still has darker themes, but has lighter moments and characters woven throughout. Her representation of mental health is so well done, and something I appreciate so much! She writes broken people extremely well and takes them on such a journey. Her heroines always amaze me, and Willow was no different. She was fierce in her protectiveness of her daughter, even if it meant breaking her own heart — the cliffy we left off on in book 1 was rough… while they find their way back to each other, their road to happy isn’t easy. Loss, betrayal, surprises… those all happen along the way and it was such a great ride!
If you want a story with a single mom on the run from an abusive man, who finds her happiness with 3 protective mountain men in a beautiful and remote rural community in Wales, among long lost family, then I think this duet is for you!
