This is a small insite into Paige before The Bone Season begins, very quick and fun!

This was very weird. Parts of it were excellent (Snow as a character, an older Panem, and how he rose) but some of it was so bad (Lucy Grey as a character, the weird disjointed settings and plot pace, the fucking romance and basically all the side characters). The way everything gets wrapped up is so quick and weird and makes the third half a slog. This was entirely uneeded but it was fun when it worked.

This is such an excellent book and a perfect sequel. Absolutely avoids second book syndrome.

This had everything I needed and more. The last 100 pages destroyed me.

This was so cute! And incredibly sad! Paige's trauma is so well written and I love how patient Warden is with her. The flashbacks were really good too, I love how obviously in love Warden is with Paige and she is just incredibly oblivious to it.

Great continuation of the story and characters, even if some of it felt a little fast paced. Sad to see so many of them go, thought Warden and Paige's relationship was really well done here as always. Love that Paige took literally 2 W's whole book, love a queen who fails upwards.

This was a marked improvement over The Bone Season, even though I enjoyed the former a little more. The world building here felt much more natural and while the plot was a little weaker it was still very good. Loved Paige even more her, found her decisions to be more natural here. Also loved the development between her and Warden.
jaxon you fucking bitch!!!! I knew he was sketchy but I didn't know he was THAT sketchy
The combat flowed really well and the final half was excellent.

While the world building is confusing and the start is slow, this is so worth the read. The story and plot is excellent and interesting and while it might not be for everyone I adored Paige and Warden's relationship. Paige in particular was an excellent fmc and I loved her relationship with her powers. The ending is also a gut punch.

The end of the Gojo flashback, Geto's turn is pretty quick but it does make sense.
with the way people on social media went on about him I thought Toji was a much bigger character, like what do you mean he's just dead?
the twist at the end was great too.
