First time reading The Chronicals of Narnia and i'm very impressed with how good this was. The writing was very charming and while it takes a little bit to get going it's very good when it does. I found the characters to be very likeable and the villain was fun. Aslan is a highlight as always.
This might be one of the best interpretations of the genesis myth ever- I love how creative and joyful it is, and I like how much it lends itself to the magic system and world building.
Excellent start to the series and I have high hopes for the next book!

This was such a fun read- writing was good, consistently so, the characters were excellent and the romance felt very natural. The FMC in particular was great, I love that she got to be smart and have a strong backbone. The MMC was dickish but in a way that was understandable and wasn't off putting at all. The side characters were fun too! A couple of weird comments on occasion but other than that a fun read.
Don't know if i'm just not in the right headspace for it or if the book is bad but i'm just not enjoying myself at all. Will come around to this at another time.

Very different from the previous books but in the best way possible, everything here is tightly written and well paced, nothing feels out of place. It was nice to focus on Arthur for a little and I found Fenchurch to be a fun character foil for him, their romance was a little quick but I did enjoy it. Maybe the funniest book so far too! The ending is a little bittersweet but it works so well, very sad to only have a book to go.

This was amazing- loved the plot and the characters here, everything connected together so well and there were genuinely pretty sad moments. Almost no Marvin which is a plus and Trillian got to have her moment! The Krikkit stuff is both hilarious and deeply relevant even now, highly recommend.

Decided to start this series as a nostalgia read- this was always my least favourite in the series as a child and I stand by it. The plot is simple enough and while there is a lot of character and charm I find Gracie to be a little boring and I dislike that her and Marcus are just instantly friends. Other than that it's a decent read, and I find the world to be interesting enough.

This was a really entertaining sequel, the level of writing didn't dip at all, even if the book's centrepiece is more set dressing. Really loved the first half, and enjoyed the second half, just not as much.
