Deeply, deeply unserious novel. But it was a lot of fun. Great mental health rep (imo), decently funny and not too cringe- I really liked Athena's arc! Having someone older who isn't sure of what they want to do is refreshing. Matthew is textbook definition offline boyfriend which yes is extremely funny. Also love the hearts to monster-romance novels, hell yeah they deserve their time (Olivia I support you if you go into that territory). Twas a fun romp, if a little tropey.

BECK WANT VAGINA. LIONA WANT COCK. The whole book reads like this. The author has exactly zero understanding of what makes Shrek, Shrek and therefore what could make him attractive. Beck you will NEVER be loved. Juvenile, badly written smut that makes you wonder if sex is actually real and not a government conspiracy to sell more booktok spice at Waterstones or whatever booktok gets accused of.

This is such a good sequel, very different to the first book but it works. I love Will and how different he is to Lyra and how that affects them. Plot is so good and by God is this book sad.

One of my favourite books of all time- Pullman just crafts such brilliant intricate worlds with no page wasted, Lyra is one of my favourite FMC's to ever exist, Mrs Coulter is incredible, the prose is beautiful and intricate and the plot is fantastic. Gender and religion are talked about and woven into the world in such a brilliant, complex way. What a book.

I knew this would be my fave one n I was right! Love Cassie, we need more FMC's who are just freakish. Hans was fun too. Was it silly? Yes! Did I have fun? Fuck yes!
Why are you so long, also hate the whole tricking her into a marriage cause she was so excited to be loved :( also really dislike the whole removing her birth control thing. Absolutely not baby be gone!

I hate myself for how much I enjoyed this- adored Savhanna (but not as much as Payton) and King I loved way more than Nero, funny men get me I fear. Nero and King genuinely crack me up so bad. I felt the connection between these two characters a bit more than in book 1 for sure. Also why am I being edged w Hans?

READ AS AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR A REVIEW
This was so good I can't believe it- dark and suspenseful with a really interesting MMC in Jackson, who isn't the whole "alpha male" type but is smarter and more calculated and a fucked up but loveable FMC in Carrie, who despite all her flaws loves her daughter and deserves to be loved in turn. I was really sold on Jackson and Carrie's relationship, having the dual POV here helped immensely. You can tell Jackson really actually likes Carrie instead of it feeling like a lustful connection. Genuinely really enjoyed and if you're into semi fucked up dynamics and scheming against your evil father, i'd go for it!
