This book is weirdly overlong for what it is- while I adore the setting of Lacramose Lake and the caves/the house I cannot stand Aunt Josephine as a character. The formula is starting to get a little tired here so i'm glad it does change from here.

Too good, so unbelievably horrific in such a short premise, the slow build of what the lottery actually is is wonderful. Prose was great too!

'Freedom has a price.'
Man I love this book, funny and sad and so interesting- Satrapi has a way of making a funny childhood anecdote so bittersweet. I love the art style and the story itself, definitely peak.

I think this has an astounding amount of potential but it's cut down by how short it is and the usual issues with the splatterpunk genre (seriously man it's 50 pages how do you fit in that much misogyny), the twist is fine I guess but I honestly think I prefer magic rats ðŸ˜

Nevermind THIS is my favourite romance novel bar none. I adore Soledad so much and her journey of discovery to find and love herself was so wonderful. Judah is fantastic as a love interest and the autism rep here was fantastic! I love that Soledad's mother gets the final thoughts of the book, really weirdly devastating in a way but also beautiful. I will say a touch overly long but honestly I barely noticed LOL

This is the best romance book i've ever read, hands down. The discussion and time actually spent on grief and recovery was so good and made the romance so believable! Just lovely all around, so excited to continue.

Listen, is this book 4.5 stars? Probably not. Is it very near and dear to my heart? Absolutely. Reading this as a girl really did so much for me. I adore how fleshed out this world is and I adore that Kita is so bitter and nasty at points, more female main characters like her please! And I love the romance so much- so peak. Great messaging about living together and accepting others too!
