Really fun read, I was thinking 4 but it's just not quite a favourite type of material which 4+ stars are favourites to me. Writing was great, plot interesting, characters are layered and the mystery was good.

This was such a fun read the author wrote these characters really well! It had a certain feminist energy to it without that being the only focus, this felt reminiscent of Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, a book I LOVED☺️

I give this 3.75 the topic was very interesting and the writing was well done. My only reason for not giving a higher rating is just because the writing wasn’t entirely to my taste and I feel it was too short.

Super fun, I'd give the 1st short story a 3.75 star, the 2nd one would get a 4.25 and the 3rd one gets a 5 star so I figured a good middle would be 4.5 stars.

An amazing read, I love the way Murakami writes and the story had me all the way through to the end. The reason it isn’t quite a 4 is because I come to Murakami for magical realism mostly and this book didn’t have that.

This was REALLY short, I enjoyed it but it wasn't quite anything particularly special. I give this a 3 it was fun and good overall, the writing was well-done and the story was interesting but it wasn't entirely my thing.

The 4 star is for the writing quality and level of research not for the contents of the book!!!

This is one of the most insane non-fiction books I have ever read I would put this up there with Educated in terms of memoir esque books about the Mormon experience in specifically the more side-ways sub communities and the culture that comes from it that makes these things possible. In terms of the true crime part of this the shock I felt in regards to the things that happened would be up there with I Have Life.
