ISSA! RAE! Is a genius! This book was so good! I personally identify with being an awkward black girl, so that made this read even more special. We had very similar lifestyles growing up, and just the way she sees the world was something I saw in myself. There were times I forgot I wasn’t reading fiction work. So good, I highly recommend even if you’re not an awkward black girl :)

I think what I loved most about this book was Brené not being afraid to tell us her own struggles. I love anyoythat owns up to what they’ve done, and continuing on the path to find themselves. Amen!

At first I struggled with what rating I should give this book. I ultimately decided on 4 stars. Where it could’ve been better, it also made me curious...and I’m quite fond of curiosity. As much of a headache I received from this book, I am pleased to say I will be reading another. Happy reading!

All hail Jasmine! I loved loved loved this book. It’s one of those sweat things that make you believe in love again. Not too sound corny or anything. I honestly wish I had read The Wedding Date first. I’m so slow I didn’t even realize it was technically book 1 & 2, with that being said it wasn’t a continuation kind of thing. Yes two of the characters from the first book are in this story, but we know nothing of their relationship. Spoiler? I don’t know. Sorry...anyway this book was well written, and overall a beautifully well thought out story.

Wow! I don’t even have the proper words for this book. It was all the I hoped it would be, and more. I won’t say much besides everyone should read this. Black people, brown people, tan people, and white people. This book shows you a great look into someone else’s perspective. Please read. Please understand. Please support.

I love this woman. She’s so full of life, and love. I am currently in tears at how much her poetry moves me. The sun and her flowers. Amen.

Wow! Dare I say this is my favorite book of 2018? So far at least. Thank you Simone for writing such a terrifying, thoughtful, and historical book. I truly enjoyed everything about this book. I have a massive headache, but I feel like a real journalist now!
