okay so i actually didn't hate this. I'm always a fan of unreliable narrators/delving into the mind of morally gray/bankrupt characters. but warner... he wasn't evil ENOUGH, you know what I mean? i wanted to see this guys sick and twisted obsession and how it drives him insane, maybe weakens him as a leader cause he's losing his grip on reality, not because... he secretly likes dogs??? idk warner needed to be more evil IMO. ik we gotta set up the enemies to lover and this is YA, but man I wanted sick and twisted obsession, not mildly inconvenient obsession.
ironically enough juliette's character/writing in this lil novella was WAAAYYY better IMO than in her own fucking book. she genuinely had a good and deep and interesting backstory. probs aided by the fact mafi didn't go completely off the deep with the purple prose this time, very much reigned it in I think her writing is stronger for it.

Read this while ovulating. Don't recommend it. Or maybe I do. Depends on where you're at in your cycle too. The yearning was chef's kiss good, who doesn't want a little bit of "lusting after a guy I'm not supposed to" in their life? Well, probably lots of people, but I'm not a part of that group.
Shit was cute, and Miles overall was a great partner. Trauma dumping right after sex was so realistic it hurt, don't ask why just know it is. :)
My main criticism is I read this in like two days, so the repetitive nature of Emily Henry vocabulary/sentences/writing was distracting at times (me and "padding" are no longer friends) and the ending was a bit rushed. I'm glad therewasn't a complete falling out like literally every other romance ever , and the conclusion was satisfying and a strong statement on independence that I wasn't overall bothered by the condensed nature of the last few chapters.
