There are a lot of realisations in this book. A lot of new characters, and each have a distinct personality. Iain Rob Wright has a magic to the way he does character creation. A master class.
This second book is tense and serves hope and despair in equal measures.
Another fantastic read.
Quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.

I'm dumbfounded on how well Iain Rob Wright makes his characters. I grew really attached to each of them.
This instalment of "The Spread: the stand" see's our survivors face off against their biggest challenge yet.
This particular book was filled with various emotions: anger, fear, regret, betrayal, sadness, grief, love, forgiveness, kindness, family, disgust, shock, anxiety, horror, panic, joy, relief...
Just tell me where I can forward my counselling bill to Iain Rob Wright.

I'm too invested in this series. I can't put it down. My sleep is screwed because one chapter just melts into the next. Great read!
I could honestly read this series indefinitely. I'm really enjoying it.
Things continue to get more tense in this book, and there are some moments that will bring a tear to your eye.
Beautifully written about a horrifying world!

Sad to have finished this series.
Huge respect for Iain Rob Wright - for creating such a masterpiece that kept me tense right through all the 6 books - and for landing the ending.

I enjoyed reading this - and the world building is fantastic. Ben Alderson writes so beautifully.
You are kept in the dark about certain questions you ask yourself as you read - until the final few chapters.
4/5⭐️ - with one star subtracted owing to Max being such an integral piece to the magical world, with the faith of a kingdom, mages and even the world resting in his shoulders - yet only a child who was exiled and her brother were tasked with seeking them.
There is no denying it, I'm delighted I read this book - as the final chapters were so filled with action, answers so many questions - I couldn't help but stay awake until a ridiculous hour, ensuring I finished the book.

A wonderfully written zombie book.
It doesn't try to change the genre or come up with a new twist.
It's the classic zombie survival with wonderful characters - moments of hope and despair.
I really liked the character development in this book.
I stayed up multiple nights after my 12 hour shifts, trying to squeeze more and more of this book in before i had to force it out of my hand to get some sleep.
If you like the classic zombie apocalypse - with no gimicks to the genre, read this book.
You won't be disappointed.
I've instantly bought season 2 in the series.
