I read the first few pages and it was so sickly I almost got a cavity. When I realised the entire book was consisting of the same ridiculous drivel I could not continue. It amazes me that this has as many good ratings as it does and amazes me further what people classify as poetry worthy of publication these days. Don’t waste your time with this.
I enjoyed this so much, I ripped through this book in a day!
I’m newly sober (originally inspired by Millie actually) so I’ve been reading a lot of quit lit. This book is the first one to address millennial women’s journey to sobriety and all the hurdles we’ll have to cross with social occasions and cultural expectation.
I love that Millie wasn’t alcohol dependent, she just knew her consumption was problematic and didn’t want to be beholden to a drug anymore. Much quit lit focuses extensively on the alcoholic mum character which is hard to relate to when your drinking habits haven’t quite reached that point yet.
I love reading work written by journalists too because it’s always full of interesting info backed by solid research. This book really did open my eyes even further to the harm heavy drinking inflicts on our bodies and how damaging it is to us as a society.
I think this will be one I’ll continue to refer back to again and again, particularly when I have a triggering event or occasion coming up.
Millie makes you feel so inspired and excited to quit drinking. She truly emanates what it means to be living in your most authentic self and it’s hugely aspirational as a newly sober girl!

Nothing warms my heart like a cute queer romance!
Chloe Green is on track to win valedictorian, only one thing stands in her way: her arch-nemesis, prom Queen Shara Wheeler.
But then, one month out from graduation, Shara has the audacity to kiss Chloe and then... vanish. Into thin air.
What should be the final month of hustling before graduation turns into a wild goose chase as Chloe furiously searches for answers to this frankly confounding mystery.
I enjoyed the heck out of this. Largely due to the Bi-representation, but mostly just because of the incredibly sweet and heart-warming moments and friendships shared between the other characters.
The gentle exploration of gender identity and healthy masculinity was so wholesome, I hope that young queer people read this book and feel seen and safe.
Overall though, I didn't looooove the plot. It felt a little underdeveloped and the characters really carried the story imo.
That was sort of ok as the characters were very loveable, but after the highs of Red, White & Royal Blue and One Last Stop, I felt quite disappointed.
Still a fun read though and considering how starved for quality queer content I am, I'll take it!
