I remember reading The Arrival a long time ago and I love the artwork, but this book is even better. Again, Tan's artwork is amazing. He has that painterly style I would kill for where his subject can be a gray, dismal city but his brush strokes and dabs and dots of color that shine through so beautifully! His writing is also unique and fun to read, but with sad undertones as each tale has to do with an animal, and it never seems to go well for said animal, and the human(s) doesn't seem to realize this until it's too late.

So if you're looking for an illustrated book of short stories for ages 12+ I would totally recommend this one.

Want another illustrated story recommendation? How about this one? It's dark, it's humorous, and it is a lot of fun to read as you see one person's POV as illustrations and the other's POV written out. Two view points from two sides of an old, ongoing war (elves vs. goblins).

Poor Werfel has to put up with so much shit!

Cute book, simple read. NOTHING like the movie, but it was charming in its own way, sounding a lot like a bedtime story. The wording sometimes made me feel like it was translated from a different language, and the use of exclamation points were kind of excessive, but that's just me being picky. It really is a cute and easy read for younger audiences as young as 6 or 7.

A good book for teens (I'd recommend 14+) who want suspense, gore, and that good ol' 80's movie feel about a team of friends fighting to save their town (in this case: island) from an old, disembodied evil. So Stranger Things. This was Stranger Things.

This is one of those books that is able to take amazing characters, make them grow, make you love them, throw a handful of disconnected events in your face, make them all come together in the end, and then leave you breathless and happy as you finish the final page.

I don't read the older comics too often but I needed to get up to date with the Venom arcs and comics that didn't feature Flash Thompson as the host. So first off: Mace narrating his every move was both annoying and hilarious. Second: Scarlet Spider is SOOOOO angsty. Good lord. I don't think I've heard that much whining since...anime. Third: Eddie's mullet 💯 🔥 👌

Oh yes, much better. Much much better. But does anyone know why Lee Price is played by Zack Fair???

So if every Venom comic could be like this one with the awesome art and all the feels I would be very happy indeed!

Still a great new Venom art and I'm loving Mike Costa's take on the Venom story, but I'm tired of Kraven. And the dinosaur people are a little over the top, but I like that Eddie was very aware of that and even said so in the last volume.

I really enjoyed Spider Woman in this as well as the nice flashback comic to Venom and Spidey working together to bring down Carnage and Cletus (thank you for that crash course in symbiote reproduction for those of us just hopping on the Venom comic bandwagon).
