LitRPG does not ordinarily appeal to me but I had to see what all the fuss was about. I am enjoying this so much! Will definitely continue with the series. The audiobook has been a super fun listen. 

I enjoyed the writing style so much. The plot felt like it was fast in terms of the timeline at points but was also slow in developing the plot. I didn’t mind though because I was happy to hear the way Hadrian was telling the story. The juxtaposition of Hadrian’s present POV and his past POV is really interesting in a Princess Irulan from Dune type of way but instead of giving away the plot of the chapter, Hadrian is giving away the whole arc. I am very much looking forward to seeing the journey unfold. 

I love the way Ursula writes…feels cozy like classic fantasy. I wish I had read this years ago. 

I am enjoying this series so much. This book felt like the story levelled up with Verus looking towards the future rather than just reacting. Can’t wait for the next one!

Really enjoying this series though this one took a dark turn at the end. Straight on to the next one…

Sabaa is brutal to her characters. I knew that going in but still… Looking forward to the next one. 

I enjoyed the story even though I roll my eyes at Vi and X most of the time. The amnesia time jump reminds me of Harrow, which I adore, but hard to see book four living up to that.
