This was just the sweet small town romance that I needed!  The burn was just the right amount of slow and had me captivated right from the very beginning.  Candace was so relatable and the relationship that develops between her and Mark felt so authentic.  Mark is the epitome of cinnamon roll and left me dreaming of Kirby Falls for days after finishing this book.  I haven't read any of the rest of this series so it's going to the top of my TBR.

This novella has such a cool premise.  The oceans have risen and almost all of the world is underwater.  Our FMC has spent her whole life on a ship, only occasionally stopping at the few remaining islands for supplies and trading.  This book is a quick read at 174 pages and tries to pack a lot into those pages.  The story engages with some great twists along the way, but I felt it was quite rushed and would have benefitted from flushing out the story and characters a bit more.  I'm interested to see where the story goes in future books and how the author grows and develops past their debut novel.
