The beginning held so much promise. The rest of the book, particularly the conflict, didn’t make sense at all.

“I’m scared.”
“Let’s be scared together.”

I picked this one up because I was promised great sex scenes. I did not expect this book to have me sobbing my eyes out at 8 in the godforsaken morning.

This is exquisitely painful and brutal, but it’s also wonderfully healing. We all deserve compassion, and I’m forever grateful to this little book for reminding me of that.
