If you're looking at the US and wondering "how did we get here?" this collection of essays is a good place to start finding the answers.

Beautiful. I especially enjoyed the concept of the Strology poems for each sign.

This was so delightful! A must-read for any hardcore lady types.

A fairy tale story, but not? This kept me guessing until the very end. Gently twisty, very creepy. Now I want to read Tales of the Hinterland.

What a third book! I listened to it as an audiobook and could not stop. There's so much here, so many levels to the narrative, so many layers to the story, and so many twists and turns in the plot. It's so well-constructed and such an amazing conclusion to this trilogy. Right up until the end I couldn't predict what was about to happen.

Heartbreaking and amazing.

This was such a compelling read. I kept turning the pages to see what was going to happen next, both in the individual stories of the girls, and in the camp story. I liked the unique structure that told us what happened to the girls at camp, while also branching off into what happened in the life of each girl as she grew up. It made me keep trying to match each girl's actions at camp to her adult personality and choices.

This was a beautifully composed and written story, which, in true literary fiction fashion, nothing much happens, and yet so much happens. Aja Gabel takes the classical music metaphor in her construction of the novel and it works oh so well. And her writing is gorgeous.
